Introduction
There are a number of effective and comprehensive programs to help individuals and couples that are getting close to retirement. While there is some overlap between the programs, they have been set up to accommodate specific needs. The three different programs are defined below.
Groups For Retirement Lifestyle Strategies Coaching
Life Options Profile Group Workshop or Teleclass
This group teleclass includes 6-25 people and consists of 5 one-hour sessions.
Before the group meets for the first time, each participant is asked to complete the Life Options Profile (LOP) online and receives immediate results. The software is designed to provide easily understood, written results.
Session 1 — The group leader facilitates the interpretation and understanding of the LOP and answers any questions regarding the outcome of the assessment and how it will be used in the group process.
Session 2-5 — The group leader presents a mini lecture on each of the 6 Life Arenas listed below and facilitates discussion using powerful questions and exercises. The 6 Life Arenas discussed in these 4 sessions are:
- Career and Work
- Health and Wellness
- Finances and Insurance
- Family and Relationships
- Leisure and Social
- Personal Development

Re-Career Coaching Group Workshop or Teleclass
Because many people are planning their retirement 3-5 years before actually retiring and want to continue to work but in a different career, ReCareering has become very popular. Boomers want and need to stay engaged and use their skills, talents and wisdom to impact their world. This assessment is excellent in preparation for this part of the transition to retirement.
This group includes 8-10 people and 6 sessions of one hour each.
The size of this group is deliberately kept small to provide more detailed interpretation of the Re-Career Success Inventory so the participants will have a better understanding of their results and readiness to re-career.
Before the group meets for the first time, each participant is asked to complete the Re-Career Success Inventory (RSI) online and receives immediate results.
Session 1 — The group leader facilitates the interpretation and understanding of the Re-Career Success Inventory and answers any questions regarding the outcome of the assessment along with how it will be used in the follow-up group sessions.
Sessions 2-6 — The group leader presents a mini lecture on each of the 3 Cluster Areas on the RSI listed below. Discussions on key factors are facilitated using powerful questions and exercises.

One-On-One Retirement Lifestyle Strategies Coaching
One-on-one coaching is available to individuals and couples who prefer more concentrated time with the coach. The Retirement Success Profile is used for the 7 sessions in individual coaching as described in the RSP description below. Some people begin with group coaching and move to one-on-one coaching in order to work on additional goals apart from the group. This creates a more in-depth and personal experience, which is preferred by some clients.
Retirement Success Profile
The Retirement Success Profile (RSP) is used for individual clients or a couple who would like more in depth work planning their retirement. The RSP requires individual interpretation and is an excellent tool for planning. Although clients taking the RSP can work with the coach for an indefinite amount of time, it is recommended that the client work with the coach using the following time frame and sequence. Clients can use more time if needed.
Before the first session, the client or couple is asked to complete the Retirement Success Profile online and receives immediate results.
Session 1 — The coach facilitates the interpretation and understanding of the Retirement Success Profile and answers any questions regarding the outcome of the assessment. The RSP is then used in the following sessions.
Sessions 2-7 — The coach presents information on each of the 15 Factors from the RSP listed below. Discussions on key factors are facilitated in these six sessions using powerful questions and exercises.
